I made a rear sight for my smoothbore trade gun, has been on two years, and works great. The secret to any adhesive is surface preparation.

Red Loctite should hold it together and is very thin like water. Heat it a bit and the joint will loosen. About 15 years ago when my eyes couldn't clearly see the front sight, I used some to install a 1/8" brass rod to the top of my front sight by slotting the rod and pushing it onto the old front sight and it is still tight to this day.

I have a friend who shoots B/P bench rest rifles competitively, he told me that he attaches weaver type scope mounts to his barrels with JB weld and uses a scope to work up his 100-yard loads. He is 73 and not the hawk eye he once was. When he is satisfied with the load he has developed he applies heat to the scope mounts and they pop right off.

I think alot of people are well pleased with some project put together with J B Weld.Once they overcome the reluctance to try it and just do it!
