Got things fit and wood replaced. Now time to tackle the finishing to make things match up to the old wood. You're to be commended, Sir.

Those seams will be damn near invisible when you're done.

And bonus points for doing the rebuild in your kitchen.

It’s not perfect but back in one piece and not sitting in a dusty closet for another 50 years. I know my father would have loved seeing it back together. I will post final pics when I get the staining done. Thanks for the encouragement and compliments. Now I want to build one to shoot.

here is the end results. Looks good and will be great to look at on the wall.

Got it up on the wall with my N.Lewis target gun and a couple of the guitars I built. Looks pretty good up there. I am grateful of the support from the guys in this forum. I was not sure how it would turn out but glad I did it.

My shop is in the cellar and had to rebuild a block wall so everything is boxed and stored until finished.

What a wonderful transformation, Dean !

Your family should be proud of what you accomplished !

AND, no need to buy another gun, since you just built one to shoot (at least, I would - YMMV, though)
