I don't stripe my ramrods, but if I did, I would use ColonialRifleSmi method.

I'm not a big fan of striped ram rods to start, but your way beats the heck out of the way I was shown how to do it. That was by wrapping them tightly with 5/16 or 3/8 cotton rope, then burning them. They came out OK but a pain to do.
 
This how I stripe my ramrods. I'm sure I'll get a lot of comments how it's done this way or that way. However, this way works for me. Semper Fi.
You nailed it friend! If you came up with a system that you could use to win at roulette and win every time someone would tell you a better way to do it. LOL!
 
Never had any desire to stripe a rod but now I'm thinking of doing it. Looks like fun!
