Help identifying this percussion rifle

Hi, just recently received as a gift, this rifle has no visible exterior maker's stamp that I can find using a magnifying glass.
It does have hand scrawled etchings in a couple of locations as shown in pics.
Any advice to where else to look for maker's stamp or how to identify and its time period is appreciated. Thx.

You can look at the underside of barrel, might be markings there. If I just had to guess I'd say it's an old CVA Mountain Rifle, but I'm no expert.

Thx, the CVA comment lead led me to https://www.modernmuzzleloader.com/threads/cva-mountain-rifle-info.33075/ where it details, from the CVA product catalogues, the specs of the CVA 1970's-1980's percussion rifles. All of them had screw adjustable rear sites; both the front and rear sites on this one are fixed.

A nice modern hand made rifle. There’s been hundreds of people making these for many years. This one is better then average.

The lock looks like a Siler. Which tells you is not a factory gun.

I am thinking it is a beginner attempt and not a kit, I don't think I have seen a kit with pins holding the trigger guard on, only screws.

That said, it might be a tack driver and very reliable which is more important than cosmetic stuff.

I agree with Eric a from scratch build, may have the makers name under the barrel or butt plate. I have worked on a couple like that for friends. I have a nice double barrel flintlock shotgun made by J T Phillips his name is on the stock under the barrels.
