Hello from the Evergreen State (Washington). I am interested in learning about Black powder firearms. I recently joined our local group in the Seattle Area - The Cascade Mountain Men (they allow women too). I had previously fired a cap lock rifle, but last weekend I got to use a flintlock, and it was really great. I am looking into getting a rifle.

I am also looking into the historical apsects as well. I had an ancestor who was in the Virginia Culpepper regiment (Don't Tread on Me!), and that line goes way back to Jamestown (2nd Charter). I will probably be looking into making some kind of riding dress. It's best for shooting.

:hatsoff: Welcome to the forum. How refreshing to learn that more women are showing interest in the shooting sports, and the black powder cult. Lots of friendly, knowledgeable people here more than willing to help in any way possible. Looking forward to reading your posts and viewing your photo's(I'm like a little kid, I like to look at pictures). Be careful out there in the deep woods if the N.W. Ain't that where BigFoot lives? Again, welcome. Vern

Sasquatch (Bigfoot) lives down by Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier. He's a wily critter. Nobody's been able to bag one yet.

The Cascade Mountain Men Club is very neighborly. They've given me lots of advice, and let me try out some of their guns. I'm liking the jaeger. I'll definitely go for flintlock instead of percussion cap. They're a lot more fun to fire. I even got a tiny powder sting on my cheek already.

Welcome Col.. Glad you found a club that accepts females. Don't know why not, some of the finest shots I know are women. Keep us posted...
