I like those but my gun has both sling studs. The wrap around universal sling isn’t needed. I like them though.

I made my own. Added a front swivel through the front rib and use a button attachment the threads through the toe plate and into the stock. I tried to match the period look of the rifle as much as possible, all hardware is iron and browned.

I use a slip on sling because I don't want or need a "permanent" sling, but of all the "permanent" sling setups I've seen, this is by far the most appealing. Good job.

Does anyone here use a sling on their Hawken or Hawken type rifle? If so, what type sling do you use?

Thanks
The sling swivels made to clamp onto a tubular magazine will usually fit nicely onto a ramrod pipe. Most trigger guards will usually present some way to accommodate the other end. I like to show off my long range flintlock.

How did you make the front sling "swivel"? I really don't know what to call that. I like that Idea though and was wondering if you made that and if you did, did you have to harden it?

I purchased the narrow sling swivel, part no 24551 from Muzzleloader Builder’s Supply. Track of the Wolf also sells a narrow swivel meant for triggerguards that also might work on the rib.

My search is over. Being a fan of “reduce, reuse, recycle”, I found an old cloth belt in the closet that had shrunk 😉 and was a cool tan color. It’s comfortable and looks good to me. We’ll try it a while.

The rib screws on a modern repro Hawken are not in that deep nor are the ones on ramrod pipes , the originals were soldered on , I hope if you take a tumble the rib or the pipe don't tear loose .

That is a good point I had not considered. My rifle is a Jonathon Browning Mountain rifle and seems pretty overbuilt, so I am not too concerned, just hope I never find out. 🤠

I had a local guy make a slip on with much better material than those you buy from TOW. Really enjoy the sling when I go on walks.

I was wrong it was more.
