My buddy wants to go hunt Oceola turkeys in Florida this coming spring with his flintlock. Can't fly with black powder! Any suggestions on how or where to get a little powder once he is there?

Thanks for the help!!

Check with Bass Pro, a lot of them carry Goex. Make sure you talk to the folks in the gun department due to it being kept in the back and not on the shelves.

Check out Buffalo Bill's Shooting Store in Orlando/Winter Park: http://www.buffalobillsshootingstore.com/index.html
Bill usually has plenty of the real thing. Bass Pro Shops also stock black powder, just not on the shelf, but locked in the back room. Ask at the gun counter and they will get it for you.In Central Florida, even WalMart has Pyro & 777 Subs.

A minimum of 5 lbs would be a lot of powder to get when you can't take it home. He likely wouldn't need any more than 1/10 of a pound at best. Not to mention he doesn't have an address to have it shipped to and a person to sign for it unless he has a friend who will do this and is home to accept it.

If he can not find a source to buy some powder, Is there Anyone in the Miami area that would be willing to help a black powder brother out with a few shots of Powder for him and his boy?

It would be greatly appreciated!

Not a lot of hunting in and around Miami. Most hunting is in the center of the State. Billy Swamp Safari is a common hunting destination, and that's almost dead center, South Florida about half way between Naples and Ft. Lauderdale off I-75/Alligator Alley. I am on the West Coast between Ft. Myers and Naples. PM me if your friend needs the real thing. I can spare a bit to help a fellow flinter. Nothing for sportsmen in Florida is close by. Get used to 100 mile trips to get anything usefull.
