I heard some guy put lithium grease on the cylinder pin of his Remington 1858 Navy and he swore it helped cut the fouling down to the point where the cylinder got a lot more spins and, hence, he got a lot more play time.

Anybody hear of such a thing, or DO such a thing. or/and whatdya think about such a thing working out for the good anyhoo? And if it's a good idea, what kinda lithium grease would one purchase?

And do you find that it helps with keeping the fouling down on the arbor to the point where it extends its "spin life"? And what kind do you use and where do you get it?

That's what I use, and have no problems with fouling on either my Remington or any of my Colts. The big name is lubri-plate, but the last time I bought some was a Napa....their brand. I use it for lots of things, beside guns...works nice on the slide rails of my (unmentionables) too

+1 on Lubri-Plate. Used it on guns, reels, brakes most things resembling metal.
