Hi guys I'm doing a kentucky build I don't care for the brass stock spacer I'm thinking about using brass black to darken it has anybody did this thanks
Ive seen it done,I thought it looked good.I saw one with all steel or blackened brass furniture it looked real good.try it you can always get new brass furniture if you don’t like it.

Some guys have used wood to create their own spacer. Darker, lighter or even some well matched pieces that were blended in quite well with stain. A poured pewter spacer might work well.
Some central European bolt action stutzen sporters use a piece of horn in the forend, like where the brass plate is. You could always make a steel replacement and brown it.
