Totally restoring an old beat-up Kentucky percussion rifle...my biggest issue on this project is the screws. They were horrendous. Flathead screws with no depth! Took about everything from my gunsmithing screw driver collection and even cutting with a dremel to remove!!, Just a mess all rusted and beatup not salvagable nor would I want to reuse- steel and brass.

Anyway other than what i have been doing scowering my workbench for screws, wondering what folks use for older, period-like scews.

Thanks,

Brian

Muzzleloader Builders Supply, Track of the Wolf, Log Cabin Shop etc. they all sell oval head screws that are appropriate for them.
