Hi all..I saw these on the October country website and was wondering if anyone has had any experiences with these patches. Love to hear from anyone with experiences here....

I don’t shoot PRB much preferring ACW period firearms and Minié balls. But when I do shoot my Hawken clone or Mowrey Allen & Thurber I use these patches. They have served me well enough that I see no reason to use anything else.

the bevel bros. reviewed them in the same article where they compared cut at the muzzle and precut and found no significant difference in accuracy

Gimmick. I cut at the muzzle or more recently cut it straps with a slit so I can tear off the patch. I got that idea Watchung maniac black powder shooter YouTube channel.

I’ve used them exclusively. Mostly because of the Bear Grease Lube. I prefer tight patching but to my dismay October country can not supply 0.020 thickness right now. Their supply of 0.020 material is not available, according to the company and they have not found a suitable replacement. So it’s to 0.018 for me. I have used the softer cotton in 0.015 (not red pillow ticking) but have experienced blown patches. That material size is soft.

All in all the daisy patches are better than wonder lube patches. And I believe it is primarily because of the lube.
