CVA Whitetails Unlimited

A friend I work with wanted me to look at his nephews rifle for hunting with. The rifle is a Whitetails Unlimited, Mountaineer Edition, 1999-2000. It is number 2xx of 500 made. The rifle has never been fired and I am wondering if it should be? I know nothing about CVA, other then I have had two CVA rifles, and prefer my TC over them. Don't get me wrong, the two CVA I had shot well, but I prefer the deeper rifling in the TC's. Thank you for any help on this question. Leon

CVA has always made various limited editions. They really don't have any collectibility. I have their "Officer and Gentleman" set of revolvers. Unfired, I think it's probably worth less than I paid for it new 24-25 years ago. There's no reason not to shoot it and enjoy it! Generally CVA guns are pretty good shooters.

It's a lot like Traditions and their 20th Anniversary Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation edition of their Trapper pistol. Nice to have, something different than the rest, but still just a shooter that won't build collector value.
