Well I got it done. See this thread for how it got started-

https://www.muzzleloadingforum.com/threads/staining-rough-sawn-pine.125392/
The pine would not take stain satisfactorily so I bought some cedar. It was suggested in the other thread and I built a bow rack out of cedar years ago and it turned out well.

Finish is just BLO. No stain needed. The cross stitch dog in the center is very old. Likely pre ww2. It does NOT look thread bare like the pic suggests. The camera on my tablet is horrid. She wanted it displayed and putting it there was her idea. Holds 4 long rifles and has a very sturdy shelf. Rifle hooks are padded with leather.

Anyhow here it is-

Excellent job. :thumb:

Very nice and the cross stich is a great centerpiece. Gives me an idea to recycle an old cedar chest I have.

Thanks for the comments guys. Like I said it's very deceiving on the looks of the cross stitch piece. My camera does stuff like that all the time.

That is REALLY nice. I need to put something together myself for my flintlocks. Unless that is, you want to part with that!😏

No I'm not parting with it. As simple as it appears, it took too much work for what it is.

@Spikebuck

While I would like to say I made the hooks for the rifle's, I didn't. They are 3/16" steel hooks I bought. I cut 1/8" thick leather and glued it to the hooks.

@Zonie

Are we allowed to post amazon links? (In reference to Spikebucks last post)
One of the Forum Rules talks about this:

34: Do not post items for sale or trade. This includes links or item numbers on eBay or "good deals" on web sites.

This is actually aimed at a person advertising on a web site and then posting to a link for their own ad, which is not what Spikebuck is asking about so I think it is OK for a person to say something like, "Check Amazon to see if they offer what you want." or, "I found that on Amazon (or at Harbor Freight)", without giving a direct link to an item and doing that would be OK.
