Someone blowing smoke. The feds allow one to own up to 50 pounds of black powder.

Some states put a limit on the amount of black powder one can have on hand. Methinks the max amount in NY state is five pounds.

He said smokeless. Forbidden topic........

We all know its a passing fad and perhaps the fad is running its course and supplies have dwindled :idunno:

:rotf:

NY 5 lbs for personal use. NY makes it impossible for shops to store and sell BP so you can't find it. I have to order from out of state.

A couple weeks ago their web site was down as well. It made me wonder if they were going out of business .

 Yes I called yesterday and they are still in business their site will be up and running by end of Sept is what I was told They will e-mail information for now and take orders. :hatsoff:

Don't give up on black powder yet, it's still readily available. Here is a link to Back Creek Gun Shop who supplies powder and caps to probably 95% of the N-SSA members. Good price, always in stock (I have never known him to be out of stock on anything), knows all the laws and will ship up to the maximum your state will allow you to store. The family has been selling powder since the early 60's. I have not bought powder from anyone else in 40 years. Oh, did I say great guy to deal with too.

Thank you. I saved the site for future purchasing.
Now I just have to make up my mind how to stock the Southern Mtn. gun in my next build. Cherry with iron furniture? Curly maple is starting to seem too common these days. Perhaps walnut? That would look good as well.
Argggghhhh...... This is the stuff that gets me up at 3 A.M. :cursing:

Looked at their site and compared it to Grafs, which is where I've been buying my powders. What do they charge for HazMat and shipping (I typically buy 3 lbs at a time)?

:hmm: Powder Inc. includes all cost, shipping/haz in their price need to call and ask for price list and release sent by e-mail Their site will not be up till end of September
