Agreed. Audie Murphy's Red Badge of Courage was great. Much better than the Richard Thomas remake.

I hold Ang Lee's "Ride with the Devil" in pretty high regard for telling the Secesh side o' things on the Missouri-Kansas border. Gobs of percussion pistols, too.

Thanks for posting the revue with the trailer. I had never see it, but I have seen the movie dozens of times. I watch it every Thanksgiving -- it somehow seems appropriate. I also bought a 1937 edition of the book last year after someone on MLF recommended it, and the book was even better than the movie.

I'd say Last of the Mohicans, Rob Roy, Master and Commander, are pretty much some of my faves, But Clint Eastwood's Man with no name trilogy (the Good the Bad and the Ugly, Fist full of dollars, For a few dollars more) beats them all IMHO. :v
