Has anyone tried staining a maple stock almost black. I’m thinking on my next build I would like a real dark stock, with slightly darker stripes like what a black phase tiger would look like. If so could you post pictures please?
Could make some vinegaroon.
 
I used LMF American Walnut and LMF Ebony mixed for this one.

Yup. I used India ink. Worked well. It was a kit rescue and had a lot of patches, and the owner asked for black. I asked how black? He said Black black. I think it looked rather nice. Definately different.
