Thread size will be gun dependent (CVA vs Traditions vs TC vs ...) and then the actual nipple shape is different as well.
 
My T/C renegade and Lyman GPR both took musket cap nipples no problem....buy them to fit the brand.
 
are Musket nipples same thread size as #10 percussion nipples?? Thanks!
If you get the correct nipple (thread) for the gun, yes. I have successfully swapped new Musket nipples for the original nipples on two T/C Renegades and both sides of a CVA 12 bore double. I did the conversions to go to a larger (easier to handle), possibly hotter/more flame cap on hunting arms. And to use Musket caps I was able to get during the drought to lighten the load on my #11 caps.

You mention #10 caps which may indicate usage on a revolver. Humm, don’t think Musket caps are going to work on a revolver but strange things happen.
