Having worked for gun companies, I learned a few things about shipping them.
First, put at least three large labels on different parts of the package. Thieves will generally carry a shipping label with their own address on it to cover a single label.
Second, if a firearm goes missing, contact the BATF and notify them of the shipping company. They will contact the carrier, and packages generally get found real fast, since it's a Federal crime, and they are responsible. BATF is much more likely to prosecute than a local law enforcement agency and court.

Of course, none of this applies if your name is Hunter Biden.

Wow. Around here, fed sux hires a lot of ex felons in some kind of program. I never use fed sux! Too many sticky fingers and temptations.

I ship in a VERY large box. Big enough so it’s very hard to hide under a coat or whatever. It’s expensive, but it will not get stolen. Small, heavy parcels will be assumed to hold a valuable item and disappear.

I am thinking that adding Apple "Air-Tags" may be a routine necessity. I know somebody who stole his car back using one. Proactive law enforcement is a thing of the past maybe we need to make it embarrassingly easy for the police to locate stolen goods?
I would think one of those air tags would only go to a point where it was unboxed. I suppose if it's somehow hidden in the packaging it might help a little but time would be of the essence here. Even just an empty box in or around a thief's house with a missing firearm isn't going to yield much results on where the firearms went or who committed the crime. I suppose your idea is better than nothing.

If the thief has an iPhone they will know an air tag is present, the phones notify you if one of the tags are moving with you. It's an anti-stalker feature.

Driver snitched on some other hood rats, that’s the only reason he got off lightly.

I don’t think this is correct. We have an air tag on my dogs collar in case he gets lost and it can only be synced to one phone, my wife’s. When I jog with our dog I carry my iPhone and have never received any indication there is an air tag with me yet my wife can tell exactly where the dog and I are located at all times during our run.

Idk, I don't use apple products. According to Apple: "If an AirTag that's separated from its owner is seen moving with you over time, or if your iPhone is awake and an AirTag that isn't with its owner for a period of time emits a sound to indicate that it has moved, this alert is displayed: AirTag Found Moving With You."

It seems there is a setting for having your phone "awake" that is required, I'm sure the prudent thief would have it enabled. It's possible that the Tag is synched to both of your devices so it wouldn't alert to that
Who knows with all of the new tech these days. Just something to think about and research before use.
