Normally I avoid Amazon, but they did have the best price, as with friends we bought 3 of them and they were only $29 each with paid shipping, where they would be a bit more if one had to pay the $7 for shipping, which would be less per case if you bought a few. Just be SURE to buy the 66" long by 6" wide case, as there are a few sizes available!

The Case
Southland Archery Supply (SAS) [ Note this is likely the 4"width case they show ... ]

The Musket
A 48" barreled Rob Miller trade gun, measuring 63-3/4" overall

The Case Loaded - Dang, it 'just' fit!

The Good
  • Price
  • Dual zippers
  • Hang tag on one end, 1" wide loop
  • Long enough for maybe most muskets to <= 48"barrels, provided the butt doesn't have much drop or is HUGE (paddle or club butt)
  • Appears well made condura nylon, with wrap-around handles of condura nylon, with large metal rivets sealing the zipper ends
  • Simple to sew in elastic loops, in a few spots, to hold a range rod on the outside
  • Price could be more for shipping
The Bad, ... maybe
  • It could be a 'tight' fit if your stock had a lot of drop
  • Amazon, many avoid them
  • No external ramrod sleeve

Now I will use Unique Cases, once they get back in business, at least after the woman who was going to take over the operation is put in jail for stealing the $$ and ruining their reputation, which is hopefully only temporary ...

UPDATE - For those that don't - or refuse to - use Amazon, Southland sells them directly on their site for $29 too!
