First and only shot counted! The other two after hearing the boom and blinding smoke, may have run for their lives thinking more on the way!!! Inside a home, may have sounded like a cannon!

The first thing this poor man needs to do is get a great attorney. And I hope the idiot he shot was actually INSIDE his house.
Good for him. I'll kick in a few bucks so he can replace the blood stained carpet. I hope Vermont is a Castle Doctrine state. I guess those turds looking for drug money didn't remember most of older guys aren't violent anymore, but haven't forgotten how to be.
I applaud the homeowner for defending his home.

I hope he lawyers up quick. Vermont isn’t a state that is for the people anymore. The police even executed a search warrant right away against the homeowner too. Obviously looking for anything incriminating they can use against him. Anyway good for him. I sure hope it was a large caliber ML with a big bullet too. A old filthy dirty mini ball with rancid grease lube would be best.

Don't search warrants have to specify just what they are searching for? It would be interesting to see what was specified on the warrant. I'm assuming that they are not a public record and therefore are not able to be viewed the Joe Citizen.

If Vermont is like Missouri, any shooting is expected to be….. DRUG RELATED! They are just looking for the bag of dope money…. But if the guy kept a muzzleloader for self defense- he might be a felon as well. So that might be the extra scrutiny.
Those three felons should consider themselves fortunate. A seasoned frontiersman would have had a tomahawkin nearby , and true to form , after the first fire given , a good axing would have changed their minds forever , about breaking into folks houses , if they would have survived.

Read several news clips and nothing more is stated. They are looking for owners 39 or 40 year old son for questions. Guess it isn’t news worthy if not using a semi auto.
