Am having a Tulle Built and will be in my hands mid July. This will be my first smoothie....so just want to hear ,how your Tulle has treated you and pics if you have them and accuracy and shots of the century with these guns ..Thanks

I have a center mark tulle built in 94.Reworked it last year to make it a little more hc. I have a rear sight. Killed several deer and a mess or two of squriel. At 25 yards shooting 7/8-1oz shot I get turkey killing accuracy. Wadded or patched I shoot 11/2 -21/2 inch groups depending on the day. At 50 yards its closer to 3-4 inch groups patched and 5-7 inch wadded. Its light and balances well, while not the most hc tulle I find its variations acceptable. I have almost stopped hunting with my rifleguns.

I shoot a .595 ball in .15 patch greased with mink oil or some sort of animal fat. My wads are mostly tow, hemp fibers or wool blanketing. I have shot masses of dog hair. Its pretty forgiving of what I feed it

Running a Getz 42 " octagon to smooth round barrel...with just the front sight....can't see the back one anyways ..lol. Just something new to learn...shooting with just a front sight.

Like Tenngun,I have a Center Mark. I even use the same ball and patch combo. :haha: The .595 shoots just as well as the .600 but a little easier to load. Mine has just a single front sight. I found that it worked better for me if I "pointed" it like a shotgun vs aiming like a rifle. Some people say they can't shoot well with that cow's foot butt stock. Just doesn't fit some shoulders. But works OK for me. Hope you have fun with her. I know, the "waiting" for the gun to arrive is never fun. :haha: Rick. :hatsoff:

Who is making your Tulle, Ness? They are a sexy gun! I have no experience, but from what I've read, Getz barrels are great.

Anyone who can shoot with just a front sight and make accurate shots with a smoothbore is a very admirable shooter and will only make you all the more better. Though I did consider it, I opted out of the rear sight when I ordered my Tulle, I figure you shouldn't fix what ain't broke!

I did make a north west gun without any sights at all. Being very careful I could shoot well but was a pia. So I broke down and put sitghts on it, It dosn't shoot any better but when I shoulder it it lines right up, much much easier.

The guy that's building it is..Ron Gueldner from Oregon. I saw his work on another Forum...top notch !! I can put you onto him if you want.

Absolutely love my Tulle. Shoot quite a bit with it. Has 44" Colerain with RE Davis lock. Shoots better than I can. Have won a few competitions with it though. One of the most comfortable guns to shoot.

I have a centermark tulle that I bought used in 1980. Shoot a .600 rb For shot 70 gr goex with the same measure of shot and tow for over everything. I shot r/b today with it. It has been a great gun for me it was m y first flintlock. I have a few rifles but it is my go to gun for hunting here in the Great Northern Maine woods. If your shooting more than 50 or 75 yds your hunting power lines. Most deer here are shot at 25 to. 35 yds just a rant.

I don't have any experience with a tulle but i have always liked the way they look. I have two, I guess you would call American fowlers, they are as comfortable to hold. I always wondered how a tulle felt on the shoulder for a long shooting session shooting round balls (40-50 shots). It seems like the recoil would be absorbed by a smaller area of the shoulder. As I said I have no experience. I am sure some one will chime in and educate me.
I am getting my 58 American Fowler built now and would consider getting a tulle built if I had experience with one.

I have a Centermark and love how it handles. It shoulders and points well. The design is surprisingly well balanced for what looks like it should be a butt heavy gun, it is very nice to carry through the woods.
That said, I do often contemplate a rear sight for shooting when in an odd/unpracticed for position, and wouldn't mind a carry strap (as a disciple of Col. Cooper I can't bring myself to call a strap used to carry a long gun a "sling" as rifle slings are shooting aides) to free my hands for map/compass checks and other tasks.
