Took my wall gun to Bisley. I explained that one patch was gentle on the shoulder, double patch was less friendly.

My camera microphone can't handle KABOOM so you'll just have to imagine what 275 grains of powder behind a 1100 grain ball sounds like.

Most took one patch, slips down easy. The one where he falls over and the log moves backwards is double patched and loaded by mallet

Doc probably has the full 1 inch, mine is a mere .96 commercial model. Made around 1790 probably for warding off pirates on the South China Seas .

OTOH, the breech plug end of the barrel measures over 2 inches across so it's okay to load up the full service charge.

There is something delicious about extreme muzzle loading, but big heavy guns like this one are mild compared to those early elephant guns.

Gotta get me an elephant gun

Squire!
Is the gonne actually fast to the chunk by the swivel? That should help with the recoil.

Really looks like a great time! I would have no hesitation about pulling that trigger

When are you going to update us on your cannon situation? It's been awhile!

Hope all is well!

Mule

Here's another movie, no problems holding it for some :hatsoff:

I've been a bit busy recently, no time for cannon, but it will happen :hmm:

Robin,
Now that man could handle it! I see that the swivel actually did fasten the gonne to the chunk of wood.
