For those in the know, as I mostly shoot RB, are the "artillery carbine" rifles capable of good accuracy? Talking hunting here. I know you are probably thinking "as accurate as the person behind the trigger." Feedback appreciated from those having experience with this type of rifle. Thanks
 
Like any other gun, it takes some load testing and tweaking. My Zoli Zouave is darn good with patched round ball. It took some load adjustment because it was so high at 75 yds. (About 8 inches with 70 grains) So I backed off and right about 45 grains brought it down to being right on. Since I use it only for target shooting, that seemed better than trying to fiddle with the sights for heavier charges. keep in mind that no matter what projectile, the historical official military charges ran between 55 and 65 grains of powder, even for big minnie balls.
