If percussion pull the nipple and fill with good powder.
Try to clear the channel so you can get as much in as possible. Might set it of or plop it out like dry ball.

I’ve read that Pyrodex doesn’t age well. However looks like Schuetzen BP behind it. Try putting 10 grains of that in first, then complete the charge with the Pyrodex. If it doesn’t go boom then, you have corrupted powder. The Schutzen sb ok.

Put it outside during high humidity days.

Extra moisture works wonders when trying to reconstitute old powder.

Powder should be kept in a teepee. Or a tent. Pole barns open to the elements work especially well.

Well don't toss it, wait till spring and sprinkle what's left on the flower garden, it makes good fertilizer, Honest.
Then save the can, fill it with dry sand and set it on the wood stove,, just to see if anyone else notices.

My brother Steve recently finished off a round can of Pyrodex like that he purchased in the early 80's. He keep it properly stored and it worked just fine. The rust on the can tells me it's been exposed to humidity.
