I just got a T/C Hawken .50 Cal. muzzleloader kit from my father-in-law. He bought it "several" years ago and never assembled. It's still in the original box with everything...? :hmm:

I'll give you 10 bucks cash on the barrel head :yakyak: No Honestly probably close to 300...Mark

Well, it's most likely worth somewhere in the $325 area if no one has done any work on it, but IMO, you really should use it to build yourself a fine rifle!
There's no time like the present to start on it!

If you are interested in building it, visit our Gunbuilders Forum. Lots of knowledgable folks there who will be more than happy to help you.

Time's a wasting.

Zonie is right!! You should build that kit. For a little bit of work, you'll have a fine rifle for life. There is a lot of good information on the builder's bench in this forum. It helped me when I built my GPR kit. Good luck  .

Yes, do build it. Though if'n you don't want to take the trouble, why I like everyone else here would love to take it on...

I built one of those in 1977. I think I paid 90$ --- from Midsouth. I wouldn't take a silver $ for mine. It sure is a shooter. Have taken all kinds of game with it and expect to take more. Finish it and you will be happy with it for ever.

Zermatt, Build It!
with TC making some changes as of late in focus and ownership, the gun will go up in value.
Read up here on the forum, gather some intel and put it together.
I bought a TC kit that had several small parts/screws missing. TC fixed me up with all new stuff correct to the vintage of the kit.
I had a nice stock with lots of figure and Zonie got me dialed in on applying finish and stain.
The kit itself, went together very smooth and no major work was needed, if you doubt your ability.
I followed up with a different barrel, a green mt., merely cause I wanted a .40 cal and I prefer a longer barrel.
If it were me to do all over, I would do the stock in the same manner as 41aerocana did on his GPR.

my $.02

I bought one maybe four years ago when the local Sports Authority was getting rid of some of their stock. It was $187 and had been there for a while. This one had the QLA muzzle. That was a really good price then. I should think at least $250 if not more. Consider what a factory new barrel, alone, goes for.
