While working on my Apple Butter a thought popped into my head about making it in the 18th century. I use cinnamon, sugar, cloves, allspice and nutmeg in making my butter, but how about the frontier farmer of the period. I almost bet that the recipe was a lot simpler than we know it today.

Your thoughts please. __ Educate me!
 
Probably!.....That would be a good question for Jas Townsend....
Either way, I'll bet spices were the "crack cocain" of the 18th century...Once you tried it....You wanted more. :haha:
