I don't hunt with a plug in my touch hole, I sit fully cocked with a frizzen stall in place so the gun won't go off. It is a lot easier to flip the frizzen stall out of the way than to cock the gun when a deer or turkey is headed your way, especially with cold hands.

Where I live, I better reprime every 30 minutes to an hour because my primed pan will absorb moisture, I clean all of the oil off the frizzen and pan with lacquer thinner before I load. Better safe than sorry.

I like that idea! Safer and more quiet than a clicking lock.
 
Here in PA our flintlock season is after Christmas. Weather can be an issue. I just carry toothpicks. Insert into the touch hole and close the frizzen. Easy to open frizzen, remove tooth pick and quick prime.
