Good video. But had me wondering how often do you remove your barrel to clean. Does taking the barrel pins out constantly wallow out the wood around them?
Did our forefathers take their barrels out after they were done shooting to clean? Or is there a method to sufficiently clean the barrel without removing? If underlug pins wont loosen doing this constantly then there is no downside to this method. I'm a newbie asking newbie questions

Good day KC. I have been doing this for many years now, at home & in the field, & the retaining pins are just as tight now as they were 30 years ago. However, that does not mean that other methods were not used, but I don't believe any other method will clean as well as this one.
I read an account some time ago of a trapper who had not looked after his gun as well as he should, & it failed to fire when he needed it to!
Regards, Keith.
