T/C Tang Center Screw Thread Size/ Length

Thank you all for your great responses! I have another question…..
What is the thread size and length of the Thompson Center center tang screw? I was able locate a tang aperture sight for my Hawken but it doesn’t come with the machine screw for the center hole. Is it a pan head type? Thanks.

The factory used 8 x 32 threads and the screws were oval-headed and countersunk. And short. The threaded shank was probably very little more than an 1/8th inch.
