I have a Chambers Late Ketland lock and have been toying with the notion to swap out the flintcock for a style that I could only really find on the old CVA "Maslin" lock. Assuming the throw is comparable, is fitting a CVA part to a Chambers lock a bad idea? I would have the tumbler hole in the cock tig welded and recut to fit the Chambers tumbler. I'm hoping also that any unsightly mold seams on the cock could be easily filed away.

Any advice appreciated!

I have switched hammers before.. I just silver soldered key stock in the square hole and re-drilled and filed it back in.. The joint is invisible when the screw is in place. :v
