Spring Clamp?

Today I foolishly disassembled a "Deringer" percussion lock, attempting to get it to fire and fire smoothly (from a Traditions kit).

Now I need to know how to make or get a spring clamp.

This lock has a coil spring that I need to compress reliably.

Any advice or hints?

TOW makes a coil spring compressor for T/C guns. I imagine it would also work on your traditions.

I haven't see a coil spring on a Traditions lock, but if it is set up like the TC or Lyman locks, a spring compressor is not necessary. See this video to check if the lock is designed the same.
