I can get an unlimited supply of the best 100% cotton ticking to make my own shooting patches. The only problem is, I can't find a tool company, or any company for that matter that sells a round patch cutter. Any ideas?

Use square patches or cut at the muzzle...they don't have to be round for good accuracy.

I have an old biscuit cutter that I honed razor sharp. A steel pipe that has been beveled sharp will work too.

I just happened to notice a patch cutter a few minutes ago in the Midsouth Shooters Supply fall catalog page 59.

As for myself, I just cut square patches from pillow ticking purchased from the Wal-Mart Fabric Center. The accuracy is just as good as with purchased patches and a lot faster than cutting at the muzzle. In an area where very little muzzleloader product is carried by the local gun shops anything you can make yourself is a plus.

BTW.. I noticed a nice cap maker right under the patch cutter.

Round hole saw cutters work great, Just lightly work the cutting teeth down, to fast will get rid of temper, to a razor sharp edge and with the use of a drill press you have perfectly round patches. The hole cutters are available in many different sizes. Just pick the one for you.

Dixie Gun Works sells a spring loaded patch cutter that works pretty good. They're right proud of it, too. $30.00
