Hello
1000004904.jpg
, quick update on the Scottish musket, I've inlet the barrel, and have carved a shape into the stock that fits me and that i find pleasing. Also note that from this point forward this gun is no longer a historical copy of the original, its my interpretation or a Scottish arm. I'm starting to carve designs into it and I will continue to post pics of the progress overall its a nice kit but i had to hire out to someone else on the lock. Flinternick took on the task of assembly of the lock wich will post more details of as they come.

Hello,

Can anyone show me an example of what The Rifle Shoppe's "Scottish musket" (665) or their "James II musket" (774) are supposed to look like when they are completed? If not completed, does anyone have a picture of the assembled lock for the James II musket?

Thanks!

Hi ya ! I will keep the Link updated on progress.

The only thing I’m doing differently with the lock is making a square nut for the cock screw so its stabilized a little better, customer’s request too.

It’s a fairly simple design, i look Forward to completing it.

Just got the fluting roughed in, makes for very good grip actually. I will smooth everything in the next couple days and decide what will be towards the butt, haven't decided if I'm going to use the sheet steel or horn for the butt cap, or perhaps nothing at all

Got the lugs installed and the front end roughed into shape still trying to decide on carvings but progress is progress. The final shape and architecture is very nice in the hand this will certainly be a light shotgun
