Friends, our 2nd Amendment rights are always under attack and the NRA has been a constant for decades in helping fight that fight.
We have partnered with the NRA to offer you a discount on membership and Muzzleloading Forum gets a small percentage too of each membership, so you are supporting both the NRA and us.
While looking at this really nice RCBS .375" ball mold I have, I was wondering if anyone has had a barrel rebored or even made new in 38 caliber so you could shoot revolver balls in it? I wonder if Bob Hoyt has the cutters to do that?
Yes I had him do one from 36 to 38 useing .375 pistol balls in it. Never really got it to shoot to my satisfaction so I built up a new .36 barrel for it that shoots real well. I still have the 38 barrel that fits right back in but it just gathers dust these days.
I had an antique rifle with a .32 caliber bore ruined by rust reamed and re-rifled to .38 caliber. It shoots very well. I use a. 375 round ball and 35 grains fffg powder out to 50 yards.
