I acquired an older rifle for a project. This half stock rifle was originally built in 1972 here in Colorado. It was built with good components on a solid piece of walnut, but it needs a bit of updating and refining with a refinish to make it ready to go. The GR Douglas barrel is 50 caliber and 33 inches long. I’ll post a photo when I’m done fiddling with the project.

Got this one done good enough. Just a few things needed touched up, trimmed down the forearm and tip by a 1/8” from the lower edge, reshaped the front of the comb, reshaped the cheek piece and replaced the brass screws with steel. The front trigger had too much take up so I added a sliver soldered on tab of steel to its lever. Did a fresh oil finish on the wood and cold browned the barrel. I think it’s ready for the next fifty years of use.

Thanks fellows, now I need to find a locale that needs a rifle with some extra stuff. I’m not going to mess with mailing it.
