Pewter coloring

has anyone ever figured out a way to color pewter?
i have a desire to pour a nose cap on my fowler, but all my furniture is brass.
i don't especially like the looks of the commercial nose caps and don't particularly want to change all my furniture to iron or German silver at this point.
just wondering.

Typical even on brass mounted pewter caps were pewter colored.
They were not as concerned with matching metal types then, brass, iron and silver could all be mixed on one gun

maybe i can do a short end cap and it won't matter. just wondering if pewter could be tinted somehow. old man ruminations!

You could use a pewter darkening agent: Jax Pewter Darkener 2oz Bottle PM9007 - Etsy

I use a liquid bluing agent, Oxyblu (Sp.?) I get from Brownells. Probably any of them will work. It will wear off with time but it lasts pretty long and re application is simple.

Pour the Pewter. Shine it bright with a soft cloth, and don't look back.
It'll work,
I think they call it "accent".

Why not plate the result in brass? There are a few tutorials on youtube, but I haven't tried this type of plating. I am doing nickel with some pretty decent success so far.
