I believe I have a Remington 1858 revolver made by Pedersoli!? What "stampings" are there for this company. There is FA within a square, which I think means it was made in 1963. Any help would be appreciated. I need a magnifying glass to clearly see the markings on the pistol.
Is this a well made gun compared to Umberti and Pieta? Thanks in advance.

If it is indeed a Pedersoli they are built to compete at world championship level and are the very best .

As the post-link shows, there is never any doubt that a product has been made by Davide Pedersoli - the dp stamp and name are clearly and deeply stamped.

Other markings will be those of the proof house at Gardone val Trompia, PN for 'Pulvero Nero' [black powder], often BLACK POWDER ONLY and usually MADE IN ITALY. The calibre will also be marked. These marking are often hidden from obvious sight under the loading lever.

Isn't AF for Aavid Federsoli, Dave's lesser-known brother?

Maybe not...
