Patch box latch spring by Track of the Wolf

Just installed my patch box latch spring. This was purchased from Track and is a nice spring. When I first got it, I thought it to be on the stout side and it certainly was when I installed it. I thinned it some to help lighten the tension. I have the button shaft intersecting the spring right under the latch notch, so to gain maximum leverage. Have any of you had that experience?
