I’ve got a Pedersoli Frontier flintlock that I was looking to get a superior lock or parts for because what came on the gun is very unrefined. The fit of the lock to the stock and the frizzen are the Achilles heel in this case. Was able to adjust the crudely seated lock against the gun good enough so that powder no longer was able to fall behind it but the frizzen wasn’t so simple. The frizzen didn’t meet flat with the pan so powder fell out on all sides. I believe the reason for this is not only its crude finishing but the position of the hole for mounting the frizzen is too high in respect to the pan causing only the lip nearest to the hammer to contact. I remedied this by grinding it flat at a 45 degree angle. Unfortunately, this wasn’t the only problem, the frizzen was also not making contact up against the fire hole allowing powder to fall out that way. I was wondering what would be compatible with it or work best?
