I have used the eggs in a jar method (of course I am invoved with the boy scouts) and it works well if the jar is FULL otherwise you end up with scrambled eggs which for most purposes is fine. I haved used both plastic peanut butter jars and nalgene bottles. The good thing about the peanutbutter jars is you can get them in smaller sizes. I think I might try the idea with the wax I like the multi purpose angle.

If you take a tall thin glass jar like those that olives sometimes come in, you can 'stack' the eggs in one of those jars quite nicely. You can 'pour' them out one at a time quite easily provideing the haven't been shaken up too badly. I did this many times very successfully and reused the jar many many times
