Just bought this Lyman Plains 54 Cal. Pistol.
Should be recieving it next week.
What are the pros and cons of this pistol? Had one many years ago in 50 cal. It was stolen and I never replaced it until now.
What would be a good load using a patched .530 RB.
Could have bought a CVA Mountain pistol a little cheaper, but decided to go with the Lyman since I already have a Lyman GPR Rifle.

Nice pistol, I don't have one yet but do have the Mountain and I do like it. I also have an old CVA Mountain rifle good luck with it.

I have not heard anything bad about them. In fact I have thought about getting one as I have a GPR. It shoots very well and I would expect their pistol to do so also. Geo. T.

The Lyman Plains Pistol in .54 cal is on my to get list along with a rifle in 45. I have a .54 cal rifle and I'd like a lyman to go with it. I have heard nothing but good things about them.

I have the Lyman Plains pistol in a 50 and I love it, it is extremely accurate and dependable it is one of my favorite handguns

I'm considering a plains pistol in .50, I recently acquired a Trade Rifle in .50, and this pistol would go along nicely. I'm finding BP to be addictive, and I thought C&Rs were bad.
