Hey all. My father was a reenactor who passed away a few years ago. About a month ago I pulled out his Charleville with the intent on maybe shooting it with friends, but I’m not particularly knowledgeable on the subject. I’d imagine that it’s a reproduction, but I don’t know if it’s one that’s suitable for live fire or if I should just stick to blanks. Any help would be appreciated.

Welcome from Arizona, post some pictures and any marking on the barrel and somebody can probably tell you. There are numerous YouTube videos showing the mechanics of shooting it.

Thank you, I just made another thread in the identification section. I remember the general mechanics of shooting it, but I don’t know the specifics of how to obtain the necessary materials.
