HI All,
Happy to have found this forum as I get back to shooting my muzzleloader. I have a Lyman Great Plains that I built from kit near 30 years ago. Been hanging on my office wall since then, probably shot it about 20 -30 times. Took it hunting for the first time in Louisiana couple weeks ago and was successful in tagging a big doe. With the 25-30 year old caps and Pyrodex I bought way back then! Now It's time to find some new powder and caps and stock up.

Welcome from another Floridian. You are like me in that we both go to another state for deer. They are small here, like the chipmunk-size squirrels. Squirrel hunting is what I miss the most about the mountains. But ain't it nice to shed the longjohns?
