I use a small tin can for the wax inside a larger tin can with water in it.

Though in the interest of domestic tranquility I do it outdoors on a Coleman Stove. Beeswax smells GREAT but an accidental spill would cause unspeakable horrors to be inflicted on me.

I also plug the holes where the hinges are with strips of aluminum foil if I use hinged mint tins. I learned right off the molten mix will run right out of those openings quickly.

Heat up some water in the microwave and use a wash cloth/dish towel. It will get the beeswax off of the stove.... counters.... floor.... ummmmm what else did it get on that I am forgetting? Lol :haha:

I shudder to think here

I also make beeswax tapered candles in a candle mold and learned long ago that newspaper spread under the workspace saves a lot of scraping (and groveling). I make my Moose Snot on the stove and have newspaper spread out on the counter-top where I do the pouring.
