Just picked up a Lyman Big Dipper pot so for you guys that have one of these pots what hash mark do you set the control to when making round balls?

Mine is the older "Mag Dipper" and I run 8 or a little more on the dial for pure lead.
This is something that you will likely have to determine by trial and error.

I just started out casting my own roundballs using a big dipper pot. I set mine at 7 and had good results. I would guess that 7 to 7.5 would be good depending on the conditions ie outside temp and amount of lead in pot.
