This is Taylor's 'Bess. In trap contests, he's undefeated- I wasn't shooting against him.-HA! Since this one was made from parts, he's signed it. The lock was, of course, a pile of castings.

Yes - wooden rod - as per oiginals. I think I'd personally prefer the carbine or India pattern, myself. I think the carbine would be great (better) for hunting. When in the willows, the long barel does get in the way - at least on my 42" flint .45. That one has a GM barrel - 1 in 60" twist- extremely accurate. It isn't one of Taylor's but was made by an old man living in southern B.C.- might have passed by now- was old when making this rifle- 20 years ago.
