Lock & Rifle identity

Tennessee Poor Boy, arrived in Australia later 70's or early 80's with two other rifles from the same builder, can't see any markings on the lock or barrel, any info would be greatly appreciated.

That's a nice looking rifle. I think the lock is a Siler lock. @janmad will need to pull the barrel to see if there are markings under the barrel. The lock may some internal markings that can be seen when removed.

I agree with Grenadier that your lock is a Siler. Here's a photo of my Large Siler lock.

Thanks for that, there are no markings on the lock, and only a serial number on the barrel will have another look next time I take the barrel out of the stock.

Newcastle, NSW. The jack works well and you can pick one up from the wreckers cheap.

All but one of my rifles I marked on the bottom of the barrel. One I engraved on top.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback, agree the lock is a Siler will measure it with my calipers I think it might be the smaller one. Another question is about the buckhorn sight is that correct for the rifle, it seems high to me, shooting lefthanded the front sight is barely visible in the slot hitting the target at 100 yards

Now that you mention it your sight is pretty tall. Here's mine. Might want to try a lower sight before you start filing your front sight.

it looks like my TVM southern rifle to me. mine has a Bob roller lock. but the butt plate is a little longer at the top on yours,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
