Green River Rifle Works was formed in March of 1972. It started up in Dr. Gary “Doc” White’s garage with Carl Walker as its first employee. The first rifle that GRRW produced was a half stock called the Leman Trade Rifle. He is making Hawkens Rifles occassionly. Leman Trade Rifle – GRRW Collector . Doc was building for customers as well as being a custom muzzleloading gunsmith for GRRW Collectors Association for 5 years until his passing in later 2022. I was the one that got the new/old firm up [GRRW.CA] and running, talked to possible customers, took orders for new guns, and chased parts for the (4) custom gunsmiths. Ron Paull and Les Bennett were the babies in their late 70's, Carl Walker and Doc were both over 85 and still had their old skill sets. Fun time while it lasted ...
