I feel like a dummy on this. On the barrel pin escutcheon on a Vencint
If the barrel pin goes thru the center of the escutcheon then what holds yhe escutchen?
I've always used a dab of jb weld and a pin to hold the escutcen.

An escutchen can be treated like any other inlay. I use brown dyed epoxie. Once the glue is dry , finish the inlay how you like. Pin the inlay and grind off the ends of the pins. I use square iron shoe nails to maintain authenticity , and glue them in place , as well.

On original Vincents there are two pins that hold the escutcheon, one on each end, made of small thin "wedges" of German silver snipped from a sheet.
