Howdy folks.

I took my time slimming down my rifle while my lock was out being tuned up (Thanks @FlinterNick, sparking reliably now!). I removed the "belly" from the forestock and scraped some from the sides:

Then tried my hand at carving away from the flat around the lock mortise. Not super pretty but that's okay:

After all of that was done I went to test out some loads before I realized I forgot to top off my horn 😡:

More or less happy with the grouping for now, more practice is needed. All hitting about 4.5" high at 50 yards using 3f scheutzen, .490 ball, and #40 drill fabric .018ish with great lube from @Frontier's.

What should I do to get the group to drop? Is it acceptable to try nestling the gleaming top of the front sight into the bottom of the U in the rear? Get a taller front sight?

Sorry if it's a dumb question, this is my first time be gentle ;)

Thanks everyone.
